Birr TidyTowns was founded in 1985 by a local group of volunteers in Birr and inspired by a lifelong passion for keeping Birr clean. Since then, we’ve managed to gain local support within our community. We encourage community members of all ages to join us as partners, sponsors, or volunteers. We’d love to see you at one of our many events.

Birr TidyTown Committee.

We would like to dedicate this website to all deceased members of Birr TidyTowns

Tony Mcloughlin RIP, Tony was one of our founding members and Chairperson for over 30 years who sadly passed away May 2019.  Tony was always on hand and was never off duty. Tony was a gentleman with Birr Tidy Towns close to his heart and it was not unusual to see Tony walking around the streets and parks of Birr accompanied with Millie by his side and a homemade weed scrapper making sure our town was always clean and tidy. May Tony rest in peace and will be sadly missed by all the members of Birr TidyTowns.

Mary Lawlor RIP, Mary was another founding member of Birr TidyTowns who sadly passed away Thursday 31st March 2022. Keeping Birr litter free was a priority for Mary and she continued to do so until recent years. Moorpark Street was spotless thanks to Mary and her husband John. May Mary rest in peace and will be sadly missed by all the members of Birr TidyTowns.
